Peer Recovery Support Specialist
PRSS: Peer Support demonstrates the reality that someone who has experienced and survived many of life’s challenges, can provide support by relating to what someone else is going through with an open mind and an open heart. The Recovery Specialist's role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. The Recovery Specialist will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. Additionally, we work to connect each person with the recovery community as well as with organizations, businesses, and agencies that will help on the path through this process.
Peer Support provides a role model for client to gain strength, support, and hope on their road to recovery.
