Benefits

Group Health Insurance

Valley HealthCare System provides eligible employees with health insurance coverage through Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) and administered through UMR which includes prescription drug coverage. PEIA offers various plans to meet individual needs. For more information, please visit PEIA’s website at https://peia.wv.gov.

Dental & Vision Coverage

Eligible employees may enroll in dental and vision coverage administered by Reliance Standard. Dental coverage has a $50 deductible and offers three tiers of coverage with a percentage of coverage for each tier. Vision coverage provides a $10 co-pay for examines, $15 co-pay for frames and $100 total coverage for purchase of glasses and contact lenses every 24 months.

Life Insurance

Term Life and AD&D Insurance

Valley HealthCare System offers 100% employer paid term life and accidental death and dismemberment benefits to eligible employees. The term life benefits are two times the annual base salary to the closest 1000 with a maximum benefit of $100,000. There are options to enroll dependents for life insurance with $5000 coverage for spouse and $2500 for children.

Optional Life Insurance

Eligible employees may choose to enroll in additional life insurance through PEIA or Reliance Standard. For PEIA coverage employees will need to enroll when enrolling in health coverage with no medical questions. Through Reliance Standards, newly enrolled eligible employees receive a guarantee issue up to $30,000 with no medical questions. There are options for coverage for dependents.

Disability Insurance

Short Term Disability

Valley HealthCare System offers 100% employer paid short-term disability insurance coverage to eligible employees. Eligible employees receive up to 60% of covered weekly pay beginning on day 15 up to a maximum of $600/week.

Long Term Disability

Valley HealthCare System offers 100% employer paid long-term disability coverage to eligible employees. Eligible employees will receive up to 60% of their covered monthly pre-disability pay after a 90-day elimination period with a maximum of $4000/month.

Retirement

Employees working at least 20 hours per week our eligible to enroll in Valley’s 403(b) Retirement plan administered by Equitable Life Assurance Society. Valley matches up to 4.50% after completing one year of service. The contributions are tax-free and employees choose how they set-up their account.

Leave

Valley HealthCare System provides a generous leave benefit to eligible employees including paid time off (PTO), holidays, bereavement and jury duty.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

Valley HealthCare System is a not-for-profit organization, that means employees working full time are eligible for student loan forgiveness after making the required amount of qualifying payments. Click HERE to learn more.
